The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Sacramento Section selected the Mid and Upper Sacramento River Regional Flood Emergency Response Project as the 2016 ASCE Sacramento Section Outstanding Public Safety Project of the Year. Reclamation District 108 led a regional planning effort to improve public safety by developing and implementing a regionally coordinated approach for flood emergency response. The $1.2M project was funded through a grant awarded by the California Department of Water Resources.  The project team and project proponents will be honored at the Sacramento Section Project Awards Banquet on Tuesday, April 11th, 2017. The emergency response plans developed as part of this project were invaluable during this flood season.
